Principle of UV Treatment

Ultraviolet disinfection is a purely physical, non-chemical process that destroys the genetic material (DNA and RNA) of pathogenic microorganisms. By exposing water to germicidal UV-C light (wavelength range around 254 nm), bacteria, viruses, algae, and protozoa (such as *Cryptosporidium* and *Giardia*) are rendered sterile and incapable of reproduction, preventing contamination without altering the water's taste, odor, or chemical balance.
